Privacy Policy
The short version
- You don't need an account, and we collect as little about you as we can.
- We never sell or rent your personal information, and we run no third-party ad tracking.
- We collect your email, the addresses you search, your purchase history, and anonymous usage stats. Card details go straight to Stripe — we never see your full card number.
- We share data only with the vendors that run the service, and only as needed.
- We may use de-identified, aggregated data to improve and build features.
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete your info anytime at hello@veilero.com.
1Scope
This policy covers veilero.com and the reports we sell. Veilero is intended for users in the United States. By using the service you agree to this policy.
2Information we collect, and why
We collect only what's needed to run the service, in these categories:
| Category | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Email; IP address; a random session ID | Deliver reports & re-access links; security; operate the site |
| Commercial info | Reports you've purchased and the address each covers | Provide and re-deliver what you bought; support |
| Usage activity | Anonymous events (e.g. a search or paywall view occurred); basic logs | Understand and improve the service; security |
| Payment info | Handled by Stripe; we never receive your full card number | Process your purchase |
The property addresses you search are used to generate reports for those addresses. When you buy a report, your email is linked to that purchase so we can re-deliver it — but we do not build behavioral advertising profiles of you.
3How we use information
To generate and deliver reports; provide re-access links; process payments; operate, secure, debug, and improve the service; respond to your requests; and comply with law. We do not use your information for third-party advertising.
4We do not sell or share your personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
5De-identified and aggregated data
We may create and use de-identified or aggregated information (data that does not identify you) for any lawful purpose, including analyzing trends, improving the service, and developing new features. We maintain such data in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it.
6Who we share with
We share limited information with vendors that operate the service under contract, and only as needed: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database/hosting), Resend (receipt & re-access emails), Vercel (hosting), and Google (maps/geocoding) plus various government and third-party data providers used to look up and score the address you enter. We may also disclose information to comply with law; to protect rights, safety, or security; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with the recipient bound by this policy).
7Cookies and tracking
We use only the minimal cookies/local storage needed to operate the site. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8Data retention
We keep purchase and entitlement records as long as needed to provide re-access to reports you bought and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, then delete or de-identify them. De-identified and aggregated data may be kept indefinitely.
9Your privacy rights
Depending on your state, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we don't sell or share personal information, there's nothing to opt out of in that respect.
To make a request, email hello@veilero.com with your request and the email you used. We'll verify your identity (typically by confirming control of that email) and respond within the timeframe your law requires (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent with proof of authorization, and you may appeal a declined request by replying to our response.
10Registered-offender data and corrections
When you search an address, a report may display crime and registered-offender information sourced from public government registries (the NSOPW and individual state registries). We are not the source of this data and do not create or verify it. If you are an individual whose information appears in this data, corrections must be made at the official state registry or law-enforcement agency that maintains your record. If you believe information shown in a report is inaccurate relative to the official source, you may contact hello@veilero.com to request a review.
11Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child provided us information, contact hello@veilero.com and we will delete it.
12Third-party links
Our site or reports may reference third-party sites (such as government data sources). We are not responsible for their privacy practices; review their policies.
13Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including restricting database access to server-side systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we are not responsible for the actions of third parties who may unlawfully access or misuse information despite our safeguards.
14Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date reflects the latest version, and material changes will be posted here.
